A small dent doesn't always mean a simple repair.
The edge of another vehicle's door can leave a sharp, concentrated dent that looks minor at first glance. When that impact falls directly on a body line, near the edge of a panel, or over an internal door brace, correcting it can require considerably more precision than removing a larger, shallow dent.
At The Dent Bully, Todd uses specialized PDR lighting and repair techniques to identify subtle distortions in the metal and restore qualifying damage without sanding, body filler, or repainting.
What about scratches or paint transfer?
A mark left by another car door isn't always damaged paint. Sometimes it's paint transferred from the other vehicle. When the underlying finish remains intact, paintless dent repair may still be an option. Cracked or chipped paint requires separate consideration.
We provide free in-person estimates at our Rincon shop by appointment, welcoming customers from Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, and surrounding communities.
In many cases, yes. But the size of a dent doesn't always determine how difficult it will be to repair.
A shallow, rounded ding may be corrected to the point that it's no longer noticeable. A much smaller dent with a sharp center, stretched metal, or raised areas surrounding the impact can require considerably more precision.
Professional PDR lighting reveals subtle highs and lows in the metal that are difficult to see under ordinary lighting. These reflections help Todd identify the damaged area and carefully work the panel back toward its original contour.
A successful repair involves correcting the surrounding distortion as well as the main dent. Some damage may not allow complete correction, particularly when the metal has stretched significantly or previous repairs affect the panel.
Many vehicle doors contain internal reinforcements that restrict access to the damaged metal. Depending on the vehicle and location, specialized tools, alternative access techniques, or additional disassembly may be necessary.
Todd evaluates these factors before recommending a repair and explains the result you can reasonably expect.
Whether it\s a small parking lot ding, a sharp dent, or damage along a body line, Todd can assess the repair options and explain what results are possible.
